We’re back at it, the first Hip-Hop Karaoke of 2012! HUGE THANKS to all that supported us in 2011! That was a banger of a year and we’re goin to bang harder in year three!
Only once a month, and always on a Monday, Fortune Sound Club hosts HIP-HOP KARAOKE (HHK) VANCOUVER! In the heart of Chinatown (147 E. Pender) the heavy basslines thump as DJ SEKO spins all your favorite jams. DJ FLIPOUT hosts the night and keeps us all entertained and educated in his own special way. This shit doesn’t go down anywhere else in Vancouver!

Remember, this ain’t your typical in-the-corner-of-some-shitty-bar-singing-some-shitty-song-through-some-shitty-speakers type karaoke. At HHK you’re on the stage, in front of hundreds of people, spitting your favorite raps over the best sound system in Vancouver!!!!! And in the true “show and prove” nature of Hip Hop, THERE ARE NO MONITORS!
HHK has a limited number of slots available for performances and you must sign up by email (hhkvancouver(at)gmail(dot)com) in advance! Let us emphasize IN ADVANCE because the roster fills up quickly. We simply just need your name along with the artist/track you want to rap. We will let you know if the song is available, and give you some more details about the night.
Doors @ 9:00pm and cover is free before 10:30

Tyler The Creator Releases New Album Title "WOLF" →
If you’re anti-Tyler, the Creator, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to hear that the Odd Future frontman’s forthcoming album Wolf, will be less about raping and murdering and more about “hippie music.” In a recent sit-down with SPIN, Tyler spoke about what to expect.
“Talking about rape and cutting bodies up, it just doesn’t interest me anymore… What interests me is making weird hippie music for people to get high to. With Wolf, I’ll brag a little more, talk about money and buying shit. But not like any other rapper, I’ll be a smart-ass about it. Now it’s just girls throwing themselves at me and shit, but I got a girl back home. People who want the first album again, I can’t do that. I was 18, broke as fuck. On my third album, I have money and I’m hanging out with my idols. I can’t rap about the same shit.”
Nice to see that the young buck already realizes that it’s all about progression and moving forward. It will no doubt be interesting to see the outcome of the project.
